I'm sure you're wondering what Gray Tone Dreams is supposed to mean: The name evolved from my peculiar inability to remember dreams for a large period of my life. I would wake every morning and instantly immerse in routine, causing me to lose my dream's details. Besides a few curious bits and pieces, all I had was a fuzzy gray recollection. I continue to train my dream memory by writing and recalling everything I can both immediately and throughout the day.

This training has integrated into my life and my art in several aspects. In allowing my art to occur as a dream does, free of inhibition and assumptions, it is able to speak as freely as it needs to speak and in the form that it exists naturally. It can speak with a truth and originality that cannot be coaxed into action. This virtue has led me to experimentation with mediums and concepts that has opened doors rather than pigeon hole into mediocrity. Instead of forcing what "needs" to occur and assuming routine, I revel in the moment and work with the forces in the forms that they exist.

The gray tones that my dreams have existed in are becoming perpetually more colorful and memorable. In immersing my life in art, and my art in life, the gray line between them has been removed, and things have flowed naturally and colorfully.
